Pooja Roy’s story begins in a quiet town in Bihar where dreams often feel too big for the place they come from. She grew up knowing that higher studies meant leaving home, and for girls in her family, this step was almost unheard of. When she decided to study outside Bihar, many voices around her tried to hold her back. People questioned her choices and judged her for wanting something different. She moved anyway, carrying a mix of fear and determination.

She finished her Hotel Management degree in 2020 only to see the world shut down overnight. The jobs she hoped for disappeared and the certainty she had worked toward felt like sand slipping away. While many would have waited for things to settle, she took a chance on something new. She opened a YouTube channel and later an Instagram page to share the food she loved. The early days were filled with shaky hands, nervous voiceovers, and a hesitation that almost stopped her. She often says, “I couldn’t even record my voice. My phone felt heavier than any camera.”

Her family turned out to be her anchor. She lost her father when she was four, and her mother raised her and her brother with quiet strength. Relatives questioned every choice she made, from her studies to her content, but her mother kept standing beside her. Her brother taught her editing and kept telling her she could do more than she believed.

In 2021 she took a job in Ahmedabad and managed work and content side by side. Deep inside, she knew she wanted something beyond a regular office life. Two years later she left her job and decided to give her full time to Cookery Bliss. The moment she made that choice, something shifted. Her confidence grew, her content improved, and she began to feel like she was finally walking on her own road.

One turning point she often talks about is the way her hometown affected her early growth. She created videos with the same effort many larger creators put in but her views rarely moved beyond a few hundred. When she moved to Punjab after marriage in 2024, the same videos began touching millions. She says, “I didn’t change. Only my surroundings changed.” That simple shift made her understand how online reach can be tied to where you live, especially when your niche has nothing to do with local culture.

Her work now is shaped by this long journey. She creates food content that makes everyday cooking feel lighter. Instead of long methods that many Indian homes follow, she turns to tools that cut down time and effort. Her recipes lean toward easy weekday meals, healthier twists, and faster ways to cook classics. She believes that appliances can make the kitchen a shared space. “When cooking gets easier, everyone in the house can be part of it,” she says.

Her biggest hurdles came from finding her own space in a crowded food category. She studied what people asked for, changed her style slowly, and learned how to build an aesthetic on camera. She faced burnout and days when ideas simply would not come. She still faces them but she gives herself breaks and cooks off camera when she needs to feel joy again.

For anyone starting today, she offers a simple thought: do not chase numbers. Share what feels real, keep learning, and build something that speaks from your own life. Her journey from a small town to a growing digital space shows how steady courage slowly builds a path that once felt impossible.
