Nivedith Gajapathy- The Entrepreneurs of India Magazine

Nivedith G, better known online as MacroTraveller, and even better known to airport immigration officers across 46 countries. Based in Bengaluru, he is a travel writer, content creator, and the founder of GV Mediatech, a marketing agency that has managed over six thousand campaigns. His journey is an interesting mix of wanderlust, strategy, and pure hustle, one that turned travel into both a career and a business.

With over seventeen years of experience, he has explored more than a hundred cities while creating stories for brands and audiences across the world. He is counted among India’s top ten travel influencers, a recognition that brought clarity to his family only when he appeared on television. From luxury hotels to tourism boards, airlines to consumer brands, he has managed to position himself at the center of India’s digital storytelling scene. His mother may not have fully understood what “influencer marketing” meant, but when neighbors pointed out his NDTV feature, the concept suddenly became very real at home.

Back in 2015, Nivedith made a bold choice. “I quit my corporate job as a Social Media Manager at Manipal Global Education Services… not because I hated Mondays, but because I wanted every day to feel like a Friday at the airport.” Friends thought he was having a quarter-life crisis. Relatives were puzzled at the idea of someone leaving asteady job just to travel and blog. But what looked like a gamble to many soon proved to be the start of something bigger. He traded cubicles for passport stamps, performance reviews for client campaigns, and hasn’t looked back since.

The early days were far from easy. He recalls starting with just a second-hand laptop, patchy Wi-Fi, and the determination to make it work. There were no fancy offices, no investors waiting in line, only a simple idea of turning his passion for travel into a voice that brands and people would value. Looking back, he says the lack of resources was actually a blessing, because it forced him to think creatively and adapt quickly. For him, reasons mattered more than resources.

Challenges were plenty, some of them even comical in hindsight. Convincing people that travel blogging was a real job was harder than crossing airport security without removing your shoes. Payments often got delayed, and collaborations sometimes came in the form of “free exposure.” At one stage, he wore every hat possible, from CEO to accountant to office assistant. Slowly, he built a team and learned the art of saying no when needed. Contracts became his best friend, and advance payments a must.

His biggest mistakes, which later became valuable lessons, shaped how he runs his business today. In the beginning, he tried to handle everything on his own, which led to burnout. He also admits to hiring based on good vibes, only to learn that payroll doesn’t get managed by Instagram aesthetics. He learned the hard way that not every client is worth saying yes to, especially when the deal leaves you drained instead of motivated. Contracts were ignored at first, until a few bad experiences convinced him to never rely on verbal promises. And perhaps the most relatable mistake of all, he spent weeks perfecting his website but forgot to add a contact form.

As GV Mediatech grew, so did his understanding of how influencer marketing works at scale. The agency focuses on connecting brands with the right creators, managing social media campaigns, and ensuring that online storytelling feels authentic rather than forced. Having been a creator himself, Nivedith knows what both sides of the equation expect. His agency has handled everything from tourism promotions to tech launches, making sure campaigns resonate with the intended audience. He often jokes that the work also involves chasing creators who disappear after posting a single reel.

What makes his industry different is the speed at which it changes. One day, a dance reel can sell out a product, the next day the same trend disappears. People trust people, and in this digital age, a single creator’s recommendation carries more weight than a billboard. The space is unpredictable, yet filled with opportunities, which is what excites him the most.

Family support came gradually. When he first told them about his decision, his mother thought it was a phase, and his father wondered if blogging came with a pension. Over time, as his travel stories turned into paid campaigns and media features, their doubts slowly faded. He believes families can support young entrepreneurs by believing in them even when they don’t fully understand what the business is about. Encouragement, patience, and celebrating small wins can make all the difference. And, he adds with a laugh, always keep snacks ready, because brainstorming is better with food.

Today, GV Mediatech is recognized for its global campaigns, and Nivedith continues to juggle roles as a creator, entrepreneur, and new father. His life now includes the title of “Chief Diaper Strategist” alongside managing luxury campaigns. From covering the Oscars in Hollywood to chasing sunrises in the Himalayas, his journey is proof that passion combined with persistence can turn into a business that inspires others.

When asked what advice he would give to upcoming entrepreneurs, his words are simple. “Start before you’re ready, because if you wait for the perfect moment, you’ll be waiting forever.” He believes perfection is an illusion, and the real growth comes from making mistakes and learning while on the move. Whether in business or in travel, the road reveals itself only after you start walking it.
