Ananya Khera is a pastry chef based in Gurgaon who grew up in South Delhi in a family of teachers and engineers. Despite having no industry connections, she felt a strong calling to pursue her passion for food. Her mother, who ran a successful business for three decades, served as a major inspiration for her own entrepreneurial ambitions. The idea for her business, Ditya, was born during a period of immense personal difficulty while she and her sister spent long days in the hospital.

Her sister was a leukemia patient, and to cope with the environment, they sat together and planned every detail of their future business, from the menu to the overall vibe. Although her sister tragically passed away, Ananya started Ditya to honor her memory and bring their shared vision to life. The food industry is notoriously fierce, with many new cafes shutting down shortly after opening, but Ditya has grown steadily for over two years. She now stands proud with three outlets up and running, which she considers a significant milestone.
Ananya has shared her story as a Tedx speaker and has collaborated with renowned organizations like Kotak Mahindra Bank and MDI. She has no plans to franchise her outlets because she wants to maintain the high standards and emotional sincerity she has invested in the brand. "It was worth every sleepless night," she says, looking back on the challenges of surviving in a crowded market. Her vision is to keep Ditya moving forward with the same quality while using her journey to inspire others who might be afraid to start.

She believes in giving back to society and actively works with cancer organizations, NGOs, and blind schools. These values are at the core of how she runs her business, ensuring that Ditya has a positive impact beyond the culinary space. Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to simply go for it if they have an idea, as everything else can be figured out along the way. She encourages them to keep marching through the days when they feel like giving up.
