Born and raised in Kolkata, Aastha Agarwal has always been drawn to creativity and business. It wasn’t a planned journey, but more of a serendipitous twist—one conversation with a college friend, a passionate resin artist, changed everything. Her friend spoke about the constant struggle of sourcing quality resin materials—too expensive, often unavailable, and inconsistent in quality. Seeing her frustration, Aastha had an epiphany. There was a gap, a need, and an opportunity to create something meaningful. And just like that, the idea for Eponic was born.
Eponic isn’t just a business—it’s a purpose-driven mission to empower resin artists, especially women, by providing top-notch yet affordable resin raw materials. But like any entrepreneurial journey, the road was far from smooth. Aastha made her share of mistakes, the first being choosing a supplier based purely on cost. It resulted in a batch of subpar resin, unhappy customers, and a hard lesson learned—quality is never up for negotiation. She also attempted to handle everything on her own, leading to exhaustion and inefficiency. "Learn fast, adapt quickly, and always prioritize quality," she says, reflecting on the wisdom gained from trial and error.
Skepticism was another hurdle. Many doubted whether a niche resin brand could survive, let alone flourish. But Aastha knew that belief in one’s vision matters more than external approval.
Not everyone will believe in your vision—and that’s okay," she shares. Instead of trying to convince skeptics with words, she let her products speak for themselves.
She began offering free samples to hesitant artists, allowing them to experience the quality firsthand. One particular resin artist in Kolkata, initially doubtful, was blown away by the resin’s clarity and durability. That one satisfied customer turned into an advocate, spreading the word organically, helping Eponic gain credibility in the community.
The resin art industry is a mesmerizing blend of science and creativity, offering endless possibilities. With each pour, swirl, and cure, artists create one-of-a-kind pieces that tell a story. It’s an evolving space, home to countless independent creators and women entrepreneurs who turn their craft into thriving businesses. Understanding this, Eponic is more than a supplier—it’s a support system for artists who refuse to compromise on quality or affordability.
Waiting for the "perfect time" can become a trap. Aastha believes success lies in taking the leap, embracing the setbacks, and growing through the process. "Trust yourself, trust the journey, and just start building."
