Deepak Tekchandani: Courageous Indian, Fighting Corruption in India, Honored by Harvard World Records and Swabhiman Excellence Awards

Indians are among the most intelligent people in the world, and when they are abroad, they carry the reputation of their country like a badge of honour. This saying by N. R. Narayana Murthy, Co-founder of Infosys, resonates well with Mr. Deepak Tekchandani, founder of the Anti-Corruption Council, whose fearless fight against corruption has made him an inspiring figure.

Mr. Tekchandani was recently honoured with a certificate of recognition by Harvard World Records, London, for unmasking a major corruption scam orchestrated by Mr. Anil Jadhav. Harvard World Records is an international organisation that appreciates individuals with unique talents and contributions to society. His recognition stands as a testament to his unwavering integrity and courage.

As a citizen deeply committed to progress, Mr. Deepak strived to establish Tender Skin International Cosmetology Academy, an institute aimed at bridging the gap for doctors practising in cosmetology and aesthetic medicine. During this pursuit, he was unlawfully asked to pay bribes to Nawab Malik's Ministry JT Director. Nawab Malik, who was the Minority Development, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister of Maharashtra at the time, had enabled such practices. Mr. Deepak refused to bow down to these unethical demands and, with the assistance of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, succeeded in bringing Mr. Anil Jadhav to justice. This marked the year’s first major anti-corruption case and reinforced the message that integrity can prevail over corruption.

His courage was admired throughout India, earning him multiple awards. Among them was the prestigious Swabhiman Excellence Award, presented to him by the Delhi Council of Welfare of Sportsman on October 15, 2023. Traditionally, these awards recognised contributions to the fitness industry, but in 2023 the objective was broadened to honour individuals making significant contributions to society. Mr. Deepak’s relentless fight against corruption made him a worthy recipient.

The Delhi Council of Welfare of Sportsman recognised Mr. Deepak’s efforts after a rigorous authentication process. Over the course of a year, he received numerous messages from citizens across India who were struggling against corruption. His determination inspired more than 400 people to take a stand against unethical practices.

Today, Mr. Deepak Tekchandani stands as a guiding light, proving that courage, persistence, and integrity can bring about change. His journey serves as an example to the nation that all one truly needs is the courage to stand against the wrong, and the universe will provide the means to prove the truth and uphold justice.
