Sulata Mitra’s journey began in a small town in Jharkhand where she grew up with big dreams and a quiet curiosity about the world. Years later, after completing her MBA in Marketing and spending more than a decade in the corporate world in Delhi, she thought her path was already set. Yet something inside her kept nudging her toward a life that felt more personal and more connected to her own creative spark. She carried this feeling with her when she moved to Singapore in 2016 with her husband and her one year old son. What she found there changed everything.

Stepping away from corporate life gave her a chance to breathe. She began writing, sharing travel stories across the Asia Pacific, and capturing the simple joys and struggles of raising a toddler in a new country. Nothing about it was planned. She posted like a mother keeping a diary for herself. Her Instagram page slowly grew as people felt drawn to her honesty. She often says that @mommyandvihaan came from real life itself, not from a business blueprint. And that natural tone became her strength.

By the time she moved back to Bangalore in 2018, brands had begun to notice her work. The turning point arrived with her first major collaboration with Cochlear where she also met Brett Lee. The moment gave her confidence to trust her voice. She later founded her company Influence Choice and built a place where motherhood, lifestyle, travel, fashion, and wellness could flow together through stories that felt warm and relatable.

Her growth has been steady but never simple. She often shares that consistency has been her biggest quiet teacher. There were months when motivation dipped or when her content felt lost in the crowd. There were days when balancing motherhood and work left her tired. Yet she kept going with the belief that tiny efforts matter. One of her favourite reminders is this line. “Time tests you before it rewards you.” The sentence stays with many young creators who follow her journey.

She also learned to protect her peace along the way. Early in her career she said yes too quickly or undervalued her own talent. Over time she learned that saying no can be an act of strength. She believes mistakes shape a person gently and turn confusion into clarity if you stay honest with yourself.

Her work today is rooted in real moments. She shares morning football practices with her son, small celebrations, tough days, travel memories, and the rhythm of family life. She wants mothers to feel seen and young women to feel encouraged. Through every story she tries to remind her audience that life does not need perfection to feel beautiful. She often says, “You don’t have to be perfect to be proud of your life.”

The digital world has its pressure but she treats authenticity as her anchor. She believes people connect with real stories more than polished images. Her advice to new creators is simple. Start with what you have. Do not wait for the perfect moment. Keep learning, stay patient, and stay true to your voice. In her words, “Your journey begins the day you decide to show up.”
