Dr. Manesh Sathyanathan has spent his career asking a question that many people overlook. Dr. Manesh was born and raised in Chennai in a family where values mattered more than titles or wealth. His father taught him humility, sincerity, and the importance of treating every person with respect. His mother instilled courage, discipline, responsibility, and independence. Those lessons became the foundation of his life. As a student, he considered himself above average rather than exceptional, though mathematics fascinated him because it encouraged understanding instead of memorisation. A simple experience during his younger days stayed with him for years. He often travelled past IIT Madras without knowing it was one of India's finest educational institutions. That moment later made him realise that many children do not lack intelligence. They simply lack exposure to opportunities that can change their lives.

While studying at Madras Christian College, Dr. Manesh began questioning the purpose of education itself. He felt learning should encourage curiosity, observation, and thoughtful discussion instead of preparing students only for examinations. Those ideas slowly grew into a lifelong calling. As he says, "Education is meant to be understood." That belief still shapes every classroom he walks into. He sees children not as students preparing for the next test, but as future doctors, scientists, entrepreneurs, engineers, artists, teachers, and leaders waiting to discover their potential.

Before entering education full time, Dr. Manesh founded Appsinbox Software Studios, a Chennai based software company specialising in CRM services. Building a business from the ground up taught him lessons that no textbook could offer. There were times when finances became so difficult that even travelling to work felt uncertain. Those experiences taught him patience, persistence, and humility. During the Covid pandemic, when schools across the country faced unprecedented challenges, he decided to dedicate himself completely to education. Another decision surprised many people. Rather than opening an international school in a metropolitan city, he chose a Tier Three village. His belief was simple. Children should never be limited by the place where they are born. Every child deserves access to quality education and the chance to dream without boundaries.

Technology has become a major part of modern education, yet Dr. Manesh believes it should remain a tool rather than becoming a substitute for human thinking. Dr. Manesh believes the greatest challenge facing schools today is not preparing students for examinations but preparing them for a future that changes every year. Careers continue to evolve with advances in artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, and many other fields. Rather than filling students with information that may soon become outdated, he believes schools should teach them how to think, adapt, and keep learning throughout life. He also encourages parents to value kindness, curiosity, creativity, emotional intelligence, and good character alongside academic achievement. In his view, schools and families share the responsibility of helping children become capable and compassionate adults.

Leadership, according to Dr. Manesh, begins with teachers. Modern classrooms and impressive campuses may attract attention, though passionate educators are the people who truly shape a school. He encourages teachers to continue learning throughout their careers and wants every classroom to become a place where students enjoy asking questions without fear. Discipline should come from responsibility and self respect rather than punishment.
