Sayak Singha | Inspiring Entrepreneurs of India 2024

Legacy is like a timeless thread woven through the fabric of life, connecting the past, present, and future. It’s not just about tangible achievements, but about the values we impart, the lives we impact, and the change we spark. A legacy goes beyond an individual’s lifetime, becoming a story that future generations look to for direction, inspiration, and meaning. Sayak Singha’s entrepreneurial journey is deeply rooted in honoring the legacy of his late father, Lt. Nitai Singha, who founded SAYAK TEXTILE in Kolkata in the 1980s.

The company specializes in manufacturing, supplying, and exporting high-quality hosiery knitted fabrics made from pure cotton. Their product offerings include Sinker, Interlock, Cotton Lycra, Lycra Rib, Fleece, and others, catering to industries such as T-shirts, infant clothing, ladies' wear, and winter garments. With a focus on quality, durability, and versatility, they provide garment manufacturers with fabrics that meet the highest standards of performance and design.

Growing up, Sayak witnessed his father's dedication to building the business, and after his father's passing, he felt a strong responsibility to continue the family legacy. Despite a successful career in Real Estate, he chose to transition into the textile industry, recognizing its growth potential.

The most inspiring aspect of his entrepreneurial journey has been the ability to make a meaningful impact within his organization and for their customers. Seeing his father's vision evolve into a successful business brings him immense fulfilment. The constant challenge of innovation, resilience, and adapting to market needs drives him to aim higher. But with responsibilities come challenges. A major challenge Sayak encountered in the hosiery fabric manufacturing industry was its lack of organization, with processes and interactions often lacking structure. Leveraging his corporate background, Sayak was committed to bringing order and professionalism to the business. He introduced clear workflows, clarified roles, and prioritized accountability to improve productivity. He standardized customer interactions to ensure consistent and transparent service that met client expectations. In vendor management, he established solid agreements and cultivated strong relationships, leading to a more reliable and efficient supply chain. For Sayak, 2024 has been a pivotal year, marked by key accomplishments that highlight his growth and dedication to excellence. The company broadened its reach within the domestic market, building new client relationships and strengthening those with existing ones.

A key moment was receiving the Business Excellence Award for quality, further solidifying his leadership in the industry. The most inspiring part of his journey is making a meaningful impact within his organization and for customers. Seeing his father's vision evolve into a thriving business drives him to innovate and adapt. Recognized for quality and client trust, Sayak remains inspired by the legacy he's building. For him, entrepreneurship is about creating something meaningful and leaving a lasting legacy. He says: success isn’t about shortcuts or temporary achievements, but about the values you stand by, the effort you put in, and the positive difference you make. Discover your true purpose, stay resilient, and remain focused on your goals. Uphold integrity, keep learning, and always strive to add value. True success is measured by the journey and the lasting legacy you create. Dream big and make it a reality!
