Murali did not picture himself becoming a well-known face in the world of traditional cooking. He studied Civil Engineering and began his professional life as a 3D Modeler, moving from one distant project site to another. Uzbekistan, Qatar, Mauritius and West Africa became familiar places to him, though each location came with long twelve-hour shifts and very little recreation. During those quiet hours after work, food gave him comfort. Cooking slowly grew from a small hobby into something he looked forward to each day. The simple act of preparing a meal eased the weight of long workdays and brought a sense of peace that nothing else could match.

He often says, Cooking has been with me since childhood. I loved using old styles and traditional cookware even before I knew anything about content creation. When he returned to India for an extended break, this old love resurfaced with even more strength. He could finally give time to it without rushing back to a worksite. During this phase, the idea of FoodOfNest took shape, rooted in slow paced visuals, traditional Indian recipes and cookware that carried a sense of history.

Murali’s early days were far from easy. He worked alone and learned each skill on his own terms. Filming, editing, voice recording, managing his page and perfecting traditional wood fire cooking felt like a full time job by itself. Views were low, and equipment was basic. Still, he kept going. His belief grew stronger with each small improvement. He often shares one thought for new creators. Do not wait for a perfect moment to start. Research deeply and begin with whatever you have, because your content will grow as you grow.

The role of family in his journey shifted slowly. At first, his parents feared he was leaving a stable field for something uncertain. Over time, they saw his focus and that fear turned into quiet pride. A major part of his strength came from one person, his close friend V Sivarama Krishnan, who encouraged him at every step. Murali mentions, He felt happy each time I grew. That kind of support made tough days easier to pass.

Traditional cooking content brings its own charm to digital spaces like Instagram. The mix of old cookware, familiar ingredients and calm outdoor settings creates a strong emotional pull. It reminds viewers of kitchens they grew up in, and it also introduces younger audiences to methods they may have never seen before. FoodOfNest taps into this feeling with simple recipes that use items found in any Indian home. Murali believes that good food does not need anything complicated. It only needs patience, clean flavors and a bit of love.

Murali dealt with many hurdles along this path. Finding unique cookware at budget friendly prices meant long hours of travel. Building his cooking set was another big challenge. He also managed everything without advanced shooting tools. During these phases, consistency kept him steady and his friend’s encouragement pushed him forward. Step by step, his confidence rose and his audience began to grow.
