Harsh Dugar on His Initiatives, achievements, and reshaping Technology and Innovation with Firmtable.

Brought up in Kolkata, an innate curiosity for innovation and creation has always driven Harsh. By the age of 16, while most peers were engrossed in academics, he was already earning his first income as a freelance photographer. “It was more than just about making money,” he says. “I learned the ropes of business—how to navigate, communicate, and survive in the world.” Though photography fulfilled a creative side, the pull towards something more substantial—the world of technology—was undeniable. With a firm belief that “I never wanted to live with the regret of not trying to create something impactful,” entrepreneurship became the canvas to experiment, innovate, and make a difference.

His initial venture, Teenskagram, was a content platform for teens that, despite challenges, taught him valuable lessons. This setback pushed him to explore other ideas, leading him to establish Dotstory and later, his current and massive venture, Firmtable. Dotstory was a turning point in his career, in terms of extensive learning and innovation. “We aimed to create an end-to-end solution that was completely technology-driven,” he explains. This led him to build Dotstory, a website and a no-code app where clients could effortlessly book photographers for personalized sessions, being India's first-ever brand to do so. Although Dotstory was paused due to industry and technical limitations, it equipped him with lessons of technology and excellent client servicing. Implementing all this knowledge and learning from his failures, he finally launched his impactful brand, Firmtable, focusing on website development.

Firmtable offers technology consulting websites, no-code apps, and workflow automation to a wide variety of businesses through affordable solutions. The startup is already crossing records and giving small business owners the chance to scale through budget-friendly and easy-to-use websites.

Moreover, he has infused Firmtable with internal technology through which his clients are updated about the work process, thereby keeping up with the spirit of a customer-centric approach. It's his loyalty and responsiveness towards his clients that has caused Firmtable to garner an outstanding 5-star rating on Google reviews.

Speaking of his achievements apart from entrepreneurship, he has been awarded by the Governor of Kolkata in 2016 as part of Bharat Scouts and Guides. He also represented Kolkata in Karnataka for Scouting and Guiding, shaping these accomplishments into moments of utmost pride for him.

Standing tall today, he aims for Firmtable to resonate as a beacon of technology and innovation in entrepreneurship. It strives to become synonymous with affordable, high-quality tech services, establishing itself as a name in the industry. “When startups think of technology solutions, I want them to think of us first,” he says. His ambition reflects a profound understanding of the transformative power of entrepreneurship—not just as a means of generating revenue but as a catalyst for societal change. As he started his journey in his teens, today Harsh strongly encourages young people to try entrepreneurship. He firmly believes it’s not as easy or glamorous as it looks on social media, but it’s the best teacher. You’ll need to put in time, money, and energy, and face many failures along the way—but it’s worth it. It teaches you essential skills, from managing finances to building networks, and prepares you for the real world
