From the Footpath to Entrepreneurship: The Inspiring Journey of Subhronil Mukherjee

Growing up in Kolkata, West Bengal, Subhronil Mukherjee’s childhood was anything but easy. His father worked tirelessly, selling tea on the footpath to make ends meet. Money was always tight, but his family never lacked resilience. From an early age, he learned that hard work wasn’t just a choice—it was a necessity.

Life took an unexpected turn when he found himself jobless after six years of working as a gym receptionist. Bills kept piling up, loans needed to be paid, and the weight of responsibility pressed heavily on his shoulders. It was a moment of crisis, but also a turning point. His wife, Priyanka, and his brother, Indranil, stood by him, urging him to think beyond a paycheck and consider starting something of his own. Their belief in him sparked a determination he hadn’t known before.

With little more than faith and the will to survive, Subhronil started looking for opportunities hidden in plain sight. He noticed how people always needed dependable services—transportation, food, and groceries. That’s where the journey began. He and his wife started a small cloud kitchen, leveraging her love for cooking. At the same time, he explored the car rental business, partnering with ride-hailing platforms. To ensure a steady income, he also opened a small grocery store, catering to the daily needs of the community. It wasn’t smooth sailing. With no business background and hardly any capital, every step forward felt like walking on thin ice. Fear and uncertainty were constant companions. There were days when self-doubt crept in, whispering that maybe he had made a mistake. Competition was fierce, and there were times when he barely broke even. But every setback only reinforced his resolve.

Slowly but surely, things started to change. What began as a desperate attempt to make ends meet evolved into something bigger. His small ventures started gaining traction, attracting customers who valued reliability and trust. Over time, he expanded his business, hired employees, and most importantly, regained control of his life. From struggling to pay off debts to becoming an employer, it was a transformation he never imagined possible.

But more than personal success, what truly mattered to him was the impact he was creating. By offering job opportunities, he was helping others build a better life, just as he had fought to build his own. Supporting local suppliers, serving home-cooked meals, and ensuring safe transportation services weren’t just business decisions—they were his way of giving back to the community that had shaped him. Today, Subhronil dreams of expanding his ventures, reaching more people, and continuing to innovate. He hopes to inspire others who, like him, once felt lost and hopeless. His journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, proving that no matter where you start, it’s the courage to take that first step that truly defines your destiny.

For those aspiring to break free from the limitations of their circumstances, he has one piece of advice—believe in yourself, start where you are, and never stop moving forward. The road may be tough, but the destination is always worth it.
