Chasing Broken Systems: Fahad Hafiz’s Disruptive Approach to Electric Mobility and Renewables

Fahad Hafiz's path into entrepreneurship did not come from a single moment but a constant pull toward building things his own way. Growing up, he was less interested in a fixed route and more curious about how systems worked, which led him to step away from Columbia University to choose action over waiting.

His early business years in the UAE added another layer to his thinking, surrounding him with fast moving markets and large scale ambitions. That environment pushed him to think bigger and stay comfortable with uncertainty as he began building Syndicate Group, a collection of ventures spanning electric mobility and renewable energy.

Fahad focuses on gaps that exist at scale rather than chasing trending industries. This led to Hydra Electric, addressing poor design and lack of trust in India's EV sector, and VayuPower, addressing execution gaps in renewable energy. As he puts it, he chases broken systems rather than industries. Under the Syndicate umbrella, Hydra Electric creates high performance electric vehicles, while VayuPower builds its presence in wind and hybrid infrastructure.

In the early days, his biggest challenge was credibility; being young meant people often questioned his ability to deliver. He had to earn access to partnerships and capital through consistent execution, eventually allowing results to speak louder than perception.

One defining moment was the shift to building structured businesses, and another was when Hydra Electric crossed one million dollars in orders. That was where the business moved from potential to something tangible people were willing to commit to. Early growth came from direct outreach and persistence, focusing on letting people experience the product firsthand.

Risk has always been part of his journey, from dropping out to investing in unproven ideas. Choosing long-term sectors like electric mobility and renewable energy added a layer of required patience.

Inside his companies, teams are run with clarity and ownership, avoiding over management to ensure people feel accountable for outcomes. His leadership style reflects the pace of his markets: taking quick decisions with conviction while remaining flexible to change.

Outside of business, his close circle has played a steady role in keeping him grounded while pushing him to aim higher. Fahad values trust above numbers, believing that building something from scratch that people pay for carries more weight than any single metric. Failures have also shaped his thinking, teaching him the complexity of execution.

Now, his plans are centered around scaling with depth. Hydra Electric is set to expand its manufacturing presence in India, while VayuPower continues to invest across renewable assets, aiming for a global presence with a strong focus on design.
