Binita Darekar: From Corporate HR Leadership to Life Coaching and Guided Growth

Binita Darekar’s journey from Mumbai to founding Guided Growth with Binita has been shaped by curiosity, persistence and a willingness to take the next step without seeing the whole path. Born into a lower middle class family, with a carpenter father and homemaker mother, Binita started earning young through tuition classes and later a call centre job during her studies. Her sister supported her education when finances were limited.
She completed a Master’s in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations and chose Human Resources because understanding people, communicating and helping them perform better came naturally to her. More than 13 years in corporate HR gave her senior management experience and a close understanding of workplace challenges.
Her HR experience showed her how people can become so occupied with being employees, managers, partners and parents that they forget their own potential. That understanding led to Guided Growth with Binita, a coaching practice for professionals facing career confusion, transition or uncertainty. Her work combines HR, life coaching and NLP tools while keeping clients responsible for their own decisions.

A DISC assessment helped Binita understand her strengths and led her towards coaching. Puja Puneet guided her coaching journey, while Anil Thomas taught her NLP. Her first coaching client was an ex colleague, showing how trust built during her HR career could carry into entrepreneurship.
Leaving a stable corporate role became another test. Her husband supported the decision, while her best friend believed in her. Binita says her work is shaped by resilience, empathy, curiosity and learning, with humanity and accountability both important in working with people.
Today, she is a Certified Life Coach and NLP Practitioner and has begun the podcast Becoming Clear with Binita. Her plans include coaching, workshops, corporate and college programs, resources and podcast conversations. She wants clients to become more self trusting rather than dependent on coaching.

Her advice remains close to her own story: “Don’t let the absence of a complete roadmap stop you from taking the next step.” For Binita, growth means using what you have, learning what you do not know, asking for help and being willing to start again.
