Himanshu Kohli: A blissful voice that fills the cup of silence and spreads magic!
The traditional routes to fame have been altered by a singer/musician/lyricist who has worked incredibly hard to reach where he is today.
Himanshu Kohli, born in a Punjabi family, New Delhi is a singer who landed his first gig in Mumbai in 2015 when decided to leave Delhi and come to Mumbai to fulfil his dreams. Himanshu has been fascinated by music since he was six years old.
The Delhi-born, Mumbai-based musician who began writing music at a young age recalls, "Your personal experience, ideas, and wisdom are reflected in your music. It won't come out of your horn if you don't live it. They instill in you the idea that music has limitations. But in terms of art, there are no restrictions. It exists as a world unto itself. We all speak the same language. It is capable of healing. It has the power to temporarily remove people from themselves”
Himanshu Kohli thinks, for him, truly describing music in words is difficult. Music is much more than just something they listen to or play for entertainment. Great musicians are enthralled by the music they perform. While the music is the most important and accurate expression of how they feel about music, they've also managed to say a few poignant things about what music means to them. As a musician, I also believe that "music is the universal language of mankind."
Himanshu believes in creating a sense of community, especially when it is shared and enjoyed with others. He has performed at some of the most beautiful venues in the country, as well as internationally. He has also judged a number of music competitions at prestigious universities such as IIT Bombay, KJ Somaiya College, SNDT College, and others.
